Last year I went back to college after close to 20 years. That which I feared soon became my portal to new worlds, new experiences and feelings I had never ever expected to have. My life opened up, and I began to discover things about the world, about America and about other cultures. I started to see how we as Americans would treat other cultures, other religions and how we treated each other. My eyes began to open to the daily pettiness and absurd actions of adults and realized it doesn't matter how old you are we resist that which is different. The New Year is quickly approaching and I want to do something in 2012 that opens me up even more so then college can. I want to not only sit in a class and learn, I want to get out there and learn from others.
My new year's resolution is to visit 53 churches in the year 2012. I want to see what other religions are like. I want to experience multiple faiths and I want to share their Sunday with them. All the while learning from each and every experience, gathering up information regarding the service I attended and embracing all differences and looking at all faiths with an open mind. And of course, sharing my own discoveries with anyone who will read them.
Some churches are recommended by friends and family, while others I just happen to stumble upon. If you ever want to share your Sunday with me, just let me know. I would be so very honored to share in your prayer with you.
I walk into this journey with an open mind, no judgement. Just a willingness to listen love and learn along side those that sit beside me, pray beside me and sing their praises of faith.
Blessings to you and yours,
Tiffany
